Hi everyone and welcome or welcome back to my crochet web page. In today’s article I’m going to show you how to crochet this beautiful shawl.

This is an easy pattern for you as it uses just basic crochet stitches and it’s only a two-row repeat. so it’s a nice and relaxing project to work up. The shawl is a good size, it can quite comfortably drape around your shoulders. The wingspan is 81 inches and it measures 34 inches from top to bottom. For today’s tutorial i’m going to be using some cake yarn. this one is by Cotton Kings. It’s Twirls Deluxe, it’s from Hobbii and it’s 100 cotton. Its Easy Crochet Shawl Pattern tutorial Easy Pattern Free.

This cake is 250 grams and there’s approximately a thousand meters and it’s classed as a category two fine yarn. It’s machine washable and the recommended hook size is three and a half to four millimeters. I’m going to be using a 3.5 millimeter hook and you’ll also need a tapestry needle for weaving in your ends and a pair of scissors. And the really good thing about this yarn is that it’s got an easy start so you pull it from the center. So you just rip this off and then you begin working from the, the center. I’ll put links to all these materials in the description box below. To begin make a slip knot. And i’m going to be using the outer part of the cake yarn for today’s tutorial but you would normally pull the yarn from the center of the cake. Then once you’ve got your slip knot on your hook make a chain of six. So one, two, three, four, five and six. And then you’re going to slip stitch to the first chain here to form a ring.

Then for row one you’re going to chain three, one, two and three. And then you’re going to work one double crochet into the middle of the ring. there’s my double crochet. Then chain two, one and two. And then you’re going to work two double crochet back into the ring. So there’s one and then another double crochet, there’s two. Then chain two, one and two. And then make another two double crochet back into the ring. So there’s one and two. So at the end of row one you should have a chain three and a double crochet, a chain two, two double crochet, chain two and then two double crochet. For row two chain one and then turn your work. And then you’re going to work one slip stitch into the double crochet . you’ve got the chain three here, into the double crochet work one slip stitch. And then you’re going to make a slip stitch into the chain 2 space. Then you’re going to make a fan stitch in the, the corner. So to make a fan stitch it’s three double crochet. So we’ll start with a chain three for the first double crochet. So, there’s one, two and three. Then we’ll work two double crochet so, one and two. Then chain two, one, two and then another three double crochet back into the same chain two space. . So there’s our corner fan stitch so it’s three double crochet, chain two and three double crochet. Then you’re going to chain two, one and two. And then you’re going to come to the next chain two space here and you’re going to work another fan stitch.

So it’s three double crochet, chain two and three double crochet. there are three chains. Chain two, one and two. And then another three double crochet back into the chain two space so there’s one, two and three. So there’s our corner corner fan stitch, three double crochet, chain two and three double crochet. So at the end of row two you’ll have a corner fan stitch here, chain two and then another corner fast stitch. For row three, chain three, one, two and three and then turn your work And then into the chain two space here of this fan stitch you’re going to work another fan.
So, we’ll work three double crochet so there’s one, two and three, chain two, one and two and then another three double crochet back into the chain two space.
